Oakdale Electric Cooperative was forced to postpone its annual meeting scheduled for March 21, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, the Cooperative is planning to reschedule the annual meeting for August 4, 2020 to be held in the Cooperative’s garage at Oakdale’s headquarters.
Although there is currently no Safer at Home order still in effect that would legally prohibit an in-person annual meeting, we continue to have the utmost concern for the safety of our employees, directors, members, and community as a whole. Therefore, due to these concerns, this year’s annual meeting will be conducted in a non-conventional manner, with our focus on addressing essential business while creating as safe of an environment as possible.
Arrival When you arrive at the Cooperative’s headquarters, you will be directed to park on the north parking lot. Employees will be onsite to provide direction and assist with traffic control. The meeting will be held in the Cooperative’s garage. You will enter through the garage door. The entrance will be opened at the start of registration time. If you arrive early, please remain in your vehicle until registration opens and avoid congregating at the entrance door.
Safety Measures In order to ensure the safety of everyone who attends the Annual Meeting, we will be taking the following precautionary measures: 1. Signage will be posted to remind individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to stay home and asking members to maintain social distancing. 2. A hand sanitizing station will be located at the garage entrance, as well as at all registration and voting tables. 3. Registration, voting, and seating will all be spaced safely apart. 4. All unnecessary touchpoints will be removed. 5. Members will be instructed to maintain social distancing guidelines. 6. The garage floor will be marked with directional tape to allow for one-way traffic flow and minimize interactions. 7. The use of face masks or face coverings, for members, is encouraged.
Above all else, if you have any symptoms of illness or have any reason to believe that you have been exposed to an illness, please do not attend the annual meeting.
Virtual Option The Cooperative’s back-up plan would be to hold a virtual annual meeting over the internet. We recognize that holding the meeting virtually will present its own challenges and hope that it is not necessary. If the Cooperative determines that it is legally necessary or otherwise required for safety reasons, however, you will receive a new notice of the annual meeting with additional instructions over how to attend on-line.
